Description

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Accountant with strong skills in property management accounting, bank draw audits, financial reporting, and hands-on experience with Rent Manager and QuickBooks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing multiple properties’ financials accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Property & Real Estate Accounting

  • Maintain full-cycle accounting for multiple properties (residential, commercial, or mixed-use).
  • Record and reconcile tenant charges, rent payments, security deposits, and property expenses.
  • Monitor accounts payable/receivable and ensure timely vendor payments.
  • Handle month-end closing and generate financial statements for each property.

Bank Draws & Audits

  • Prepare documentation for construction or property improvement draw requests.
  • Coordinate and support bank audits, ensuring all financial data is accurate and audit-ready.
  • Maintain organized digital documentation to meet lender and auditor requirements.
  • Track project budgets and verify expenses against loan/contract terms.

Financial Reporting

  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and investors.
  • Prepare property-level Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow, and variance reports.
  • Analyze financial data and identify trends, discrepancies, or cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist with year-end accounting, tax preparation, and external CPA requirements.



Requirements

Qualifications

  • Real estate accounting experience is required (property management, developments, or investments).
  • Hands-on experience with Rent Manager (strongly preferred).
  • Proficient in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop).
  • Experience with bank draws, construction draws, and audit preparation.
